It’s no surprise I had to dedicate this delicious Mango Mocktail recipe to the one and only Fable from Fable by Adrienne Young. The drink gives me strong island vibes, because who doesn’t think of mangos when they think of island life.
Let’s jump right into the recipe and why this drink is most definitely the signature drink of Fable.

Why You’ll Love This Mango Mocktail With Fable By Adrienne Young
“For seventeen-year-old Fable, the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home she has ever known. Her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one, and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her.
The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father, and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew. To do so Fable enlists the help of a young trader named West to get her off the island and across the Narrows to her father.
But her father’s rivalries and the dangers of his trading enterprise have only multiplied since she last saw him, and Fable soon finds that West isn’t who he seems. Together, they will have to survive more than the treacherous storms that haunt the Narrows if they’re going to stay alive.” – Goodreads
I rated Fable – 5 stars last year. I found the book incredibly fast paced and the character development was incredible. This was one of the first adventure/ship setting books I’ve read. I didn’t know what to expect, so went in with no expectations. It was incredible! You can truly feel the gritty life of being an islander and what it takes to be a pirate on a ship.
It’s not surprising that Adrienne Young created a duology of this book, the second book is Namesake and it’s just as well written.
So, if you’re a fan of Outer Banks, you may just love this book as much as I did.

Other Books & Drink Pairings You’ll Love
Recently, I showed you guys a Strawberry Hennessy which I deemed as the signature drink of Henry from Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. The drink was very dominant, yet incredibly sweet from the strawberry taste – which, let’s be honest…Henry is definitely the more dominant one between him and Alex.
You can find that recipe here! And don’t worry, I plan on making many MANY more recipes like this.
Mango Mocktail FAQs
1. Can you replace the mango with frozen ones?
Yes! If it is more cost effective for you, you can most definitely replace with frozen mango. Just make sure to defrost them, so it’s easier to blend/cut up.
2. Is this the same as a mango mojito?
It’s a bit different! For one, a mojito has alcohol – while this drink contains none. Think of this drink as more of a sweet lemonade.
